Hi! I'm Samantha Montgomery, owner, designer and maker.

 I started the Boutique to create what I've always looked for, classic accessories that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are timeless, useful and versatile. 

BEAUTY : THE PAST  

Born in the Bronx to West African parents and partially  raised in Monrovia, Liberia, I fell in love with bold textiles at an early age. I watched in awe as the women and men in my family transformed in their traditional African wear with regal elegance and unquestionable confidence. There is an uplifting effect that comes from these bold vibrant prints! 

FUNCTION: THE BEGINNING  

~The "clutter" Issue~ 

When I began designing my accessories, along with the intention to uplift and celebrate individuality, I also wanted to address an issue that in all forms contribute to stress..  CLUTTER! 

From the moment I received my first paycheck I began collecting... shoes, earrings and of course purses including multiples of similar items because I wanted more options! Most of those bags I hardly ever used but dragged around with me from home to home, closet to closet! What a waste of money!!
I also noticed bad habits forming with the ones I did used and the heaviness I carried around from filling them each day with what I thought I needed ...simply because there was still space. 

I had already begun learning about minimalist lifestyles before the boutique and remembered I once use to carry the tiniest wristlet and felt fully prepared for the day! Lipstick, keys, ID, cash, card.. done!

This taught me how important Design and Intention are in contributing to & allowing healthy new habits to form. I began incorporating those lessons I learned on minimalism into my designs, creating products intentionally made to be compact and efficient with built-in versatility to maximize stying options.  

This is what I call Minimalist Chic Style!
